Williams U.S. Army and NASA Space Shuttle Sets - Overview

The rolling stock in these sets were made from original Kusan molds. The locomotive motors run on three-rail direct current (DC) instead of alternating current (AC). A DC power pack with an output from zero to 17 volts will power them. Williams called the little locomotives in these sets Industrial Switchers or Mighty Mites. Included with the sets was a diode rectifier. When installed in the locomotive, the rectifier enables it to operate with a three-rail AC toy train transformer. However, use of the rectifier causes the locomotive to run in one direction only.
