Frank's Roundhouse
Frank's Roundhouse, also known as Custom Trains, was operated by Frank and Jack Rash of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania from 1983 until 1992. Frank Rash had previously done product finishing for Kris Model Trains. Frank's Roundhouse produced boxcars, hopper cars, refrigerator cars and stock cars. They also decorated bunk cars, F-3 locomotive cabs, FM Trainmaster locomotives, passenger cars and trailer on flatcar models. Their rolling stock were typically packed in white boxes. Later on, Williams Electric Trains made similar looking freight cars.
A Frank's Roundhouse spreadsheet has been developed, which lists factory stock numbers and other information for their rolling stock. Production may be browsed in the categories below or, if you're looking for a specific stock number, a numerical index is available. Stock numbers 1 through 80 were sold in either a Frank's Roundhouse white box or Kris Model Trains (KMT) blue, orange and white box. Numbers 81 through 130 have been seen exclusively with a Frank's Roundhouse white box.
Note that boxcars and refrigerator cars with sliding panel or plug doors may or may not have dimensional door opening data printed on them. I'm always looking for new information and photos. To date, over 45 people have made contributions to the Frank's Roundhouse section of my site.
