Kusan Mexican Production
When Kusan U.S. production ended in 1960, the Alco and small car molds had already been outsourced to Plasticos Leon in Mexico. Also included were the scale boxcar and stock car molds. The trains were produced in Mexico four years, with remaining stock sold there until 1968. During the best years, 300 to 500 sets were sold. Mexican production ended when a Sears contract for the holidays fell through after several hundred Sears boxcars, in special green boxes, had already been produced.
