NBT-PVP Guinness World's Longest Model Electric Train Boxcars
On June 29, 1980, unsuccessful attempts were made in Columbus, Ohio to establish the Guinness World Record for operating the longest model train. This date is stamped on the boxcar sides below. It was not until July 26, 1980 that the record was set. This date is stamped on the bottom of the boxcar chassis (see last photo). Newbraugh Brothers Toys (NBT), in conjunction with Pleasant Valley Process (PVP), overstamped over 1,000 Lionel boxcars to commemorate the event. All cars were assigned NBT number 506-1139.
