Lionel # 342 Culvert Pipe Loader and # 345 Unloader

Here is a postwar Lionel # 345 Culvert Pipe Unloader on the left and # 342 Culvert Pipe Loader to the right. Using a magnet, the unloader lifts a culvert pipe from the specially-designed Lionel # 6342 red gondola. The culvert pipe is unloaded to a ramp and rolls down to the culvert loader. The loader mechanism grabs the culvert pipe and loads it into a waiting gondola. A United States Toy Train Company Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train is parked on a parallel track.
